Global Capacity platform embraces Ethernet

Global Capacity, which provides an automated pricing and ordering platform for carriers, has said it has now integrated Ethernet services into its offer.

Global Capacity’s One Marketplace Access Exchange platform is used to generate automatic quotes on a case by case basis. From now on it will provide customers with automated access to customised Ethernet pricing, in addition to other types of service.

Information generated is based on customer-specific requirements, such as location data, supplier rates and design and engineering rules that are unique to that customer, eliminating the manual process of generating quotes, said the company.

“We are seeing a real shift in market demand toward Ethernet,” said Julie Dillenbeck, vice president of carrier relations for Global Capacity. “Entering 2011, Ethernet quotes made up less than 1% of total quote demand run through One Marketplace Access Exchange, but over the course of the year, we have seen Ethernet quotes double in volume, and we expect Ethernet quotes to account for 40% of total quote demand in 2012.”

She claimed that what Global Capacity provides vastly improves a company’s response time to customer requests and reduces their back-office costs. CONTINUE READING ARTICLE HERE
