ZenFi to Sponsor and Speak at Northeast DAS & Small Cell Association NYC Spring Summit

CEO Ray LaChance to Discuss Building Out Wireless Infrastructure to Meet Current and Future Demand

New York, NY – April 13, 2017 ZenFi, New York’s carrier-neutral fronthaul fiber provider, announces today that its President and Chief Executive Officer, Ray LaChance, will speak at the Northeast DAS & Small Cell Association NYC Spring Summit on April 20 at 4:15 p.m. at the New York Academy of Medicine in New York City.  Mr. LaChance will also be available to share insights on how ZenFi, an event sponsor, enables wireless connectivity in an increasingly wireless and broadband-connected world.

The panel, titled “Local Chatter – Fiber Providers Building Out NYC’s Infrastructure to Meet Tomorrow’s Demand,” also features Cliff Kane, Co-CEO, Cleareon Fiber Networks, Jason Cohen, CEO, Optical Communications Group, Saeid Malaki, Director of Design & Construction, Transit Wireless, Alex Gamota, Vice President, Real Estate, American Tower and will be moderated by Mike Collado, Director, Applications Marketing – Wireless, Corning.  The discussion will focus on the challenges, trends and concerns of adopting in-building wireless solutions, and of developing a metropolitan network that connects buildings, base stations and wired and wireless networks, all while meeting financial and end-user needs within the mobile and bandwidth-intensive environment.

“Traditional carrier networks are not built to support the connectivity needed by the influx of data and media traffic within densely populated user geographies, and lack reach and capacity to extend the edge of the network into neighborhoods and buildings,” notes Mr. LaChance.  “The new mobile architecture recognizes the increased mobile densification, move to smaller cells, and the need for a fronthaul fiber overbuild complete with additional nodes, neighborhood colocation facilities and building access.  I look forward to sharing the stage at NEDAS and delving further into solving the need for ubiquitous access.”

ZenFi owns and operates a carrier-neutral dark fiber network specializing in fronthaul, backhaul and wavelength connectivity to enable the Internet of Things (IoT) and 5G capability.  With 400-plus route miles of fiber in New York City and 15-plus on-net data centers, ZenFi infrastructure underlies and empowers connectivity in the mobile world.
