PHLIX Launches New Internet Exchange Point in Philadelphia

Launch event on September 17 will showcase enhanced peering options for Philadelphia-area networks 

PHLIX LogoPhiladelphia, PA September 2, 2014 – PHLIX (Philadelphia Internet Exchange), is a new community-focused Internet Exchange Point (IXP) working with regional network operators to grow and enhance connectivity options throughout Philadelphia.  The public Internet Exchange has built a distributed peering platform spanning five-buildings throughout Philadelphia specifically dedicated to increase network-to-network connectivity and performance, decrease costs and provide companies access to a carrier-class Layer 2 networking fabric.

The company is celebrating its launch on September 17, 2014 with an open networking event at the Yards Brewing Company from 7:00 to 10:00 PM, where  PHLIX, together with sponsors Inerail and vXchnge, will officially welcome the Internet community to Philadelphia.
