Frankfurt (Main), 24 October 2018 — The world’s leading operator of Internet Exchanges DE-CIX is expanding its presence in its flagship location Frankfurt am Main, as well as reinforcing its partnership with the data center operator e-shelter. The e-shelter data centers FRA4 (Hattersheim) and FRA2 (Hanauer Landstrasse) will become “DE-CIX Enabled Sites”. Including the two new locations, the DE-CIX infrastructure is now distributed across a total of 29 different data centers in greater Frankfurt Rhein/Main area.

At DE-CIX continued growth is the order of the day, so that we can do justice to the steadily growing demands of our customers. In the past year, the connected data capacity in our Frankfurt location alone has grown by 20 percent. This certainly also has to do with our very successful cooperation with e-shelter at the location Campus FRA1. We also see a clear trend towards more and more customers registering a larger requirement for data capacity at DE-CIX. As an example, the orders for 100GE ports rose by almost 40 percent in 2017.
