  • TSIC’s VP and Head of Technology, Mattias Fridström, debates building massively scalable networks at the OSA Executive Forum
  • The OSA Executive Forum is taking place on Monday, March 18, 2013 in Anaheim, CA
  • TSIC’s latest Pan-European, 100G network upgrade provides customers with increased capacity as well as enhanced capabilities

TeliaSonera International Carrier (TSIC) announces today that its Vice President and Head of Technology, Mattias Fridström, has been selected to speak at the Optical Society (OSA) Executive Forum, taking place on Monday, March 18th at the Hilton Anaheim Hotel in Anaheim, CA. The OSA Executive Forum brings together over 150 leading, senior-level executives to share their insights on network growth, software-defined networking and the future of broadband.

Mr. Fridström will join fellow executive speakers Stuart Elby, Chief Technologist of Digital Media Services for Verizon, Vijay Gill, General Manager, Global Foundation Services for Microsoft and David Welch, Executive Vice President & Chief Strategy Officer for Infinera in debating Building Massively Scalable Optical Networks.

The panel, beginning at 9:30 AM, will focus on the opportunities and challenges in optical communications, including network transport systems, component trends and architecture approaches that will enable the industry to achieve cost-effective, 100G network capabilities.

Mr. Fridström will be discussing TeliaSonera International Carrier’s critical role in building massively scalable optical networks as a recognized optical communications leader.  The OSA Forum comes on the heels of TSIC’s latest announcement regarding the completion of its Pan-European, 100G network upgrade through a partnership with Nokia Siemens Networks.  Stretching from Moscow to Madrid, TSIC’s latest network re-engineering brings the company’s European network in line with their 100G-enabled North American network, providing TSIC clientele with increased capacity and enhanced capabilities to support growing mobile, video and cloud services demands.  Because TeliaSonera International Carrier owns and operates the world’s most extensive fiber backbone, it is able to offer this seamless network upgrade cost-effectively, with no service interruption to clientele.

The OSA Executive Forum is collocated with the 2013 Optical Fiber Communication Conference and Exposition (OFC) and the National Fiber Optic Engineers Conference (NFOEC), the world’s leading event for advancing optical solutions in telecom, datacom, computing, and more.  The technical conference portion of the OFC/NFOEC event is taking place March 17-21, while the expo takes place March 19-21. Both conferences and expo will be held at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, CA.
