Indiana NAP, LLC Is Developing Two Large Data Center Campus Projects in Proximity to Downtown Chicago

HAMMOND, IN – FEBRUARY 27, 2018 – Longtime New York data center industry executive, Peter Feldman, announces two Midwest data center projects with the majority acquisition of Indiana NAP, LLC, (INAP).  INAP provides a platform for the development of high-power, high-efficiency mission-critical data center space that will serve the Chicago, Illinois regional market as well as connect Indianapolis, Indiana and Chicago back to New York.

“The Chicago metropolitan area as well as Northwest Indiana are rapidly expanding markets with a growing need for highly connected, efficient and cost-effective data center space,” says Mr. Feldman.  “These mounting needs, coupled with the markets’ favorable business and economic climates, as well as the support and leadership of state and local government evidenced through favorable tax structures and business incentives, have enabled us to provide a world-class data center solution in Hammond to augment Chicago’s Western suburbs and downtown market.  Additionally, the facilities’ proximity to Chicago and access to space and power provide INAP customers a great advantage.”

INAP’s initial project is a phase one development of a 100,000-square-foot, 10MW data center facility on the border of Indiana and Illinois, in close proximity to downtown Chicago, with a dark fiber network connecting Hammond, Indiana to Chicago.  Further details of this new development will be announced in the coming weeks.  It is anticipated that the Indiana data center campus will expand to at least 500,000 square feet and 50-plus MW.  A second data center project, closer to downtown Chicago, is also in development.

As Chief Executive Officer of INAP LLC, Mr. Feldman will manage all facets of the operation, planning, development and expansion of the company.  Prior to INAP, Mr. Feldman served as founder and Chief Executive Officer of DataGryd Data Centers, LLC in New York.

Mr. Feldman has more than 30 years’ experience in data center development, operations, management and design, and has been at the forefront of the industry in implementing energy-efficient technologies and developing innovative colocation business models.  Prior to DataGryd, Mr. Feldman held Founder, CEO, President and Chief Technology Officer roles at several successful startups, including the Telx Group, Inc., a national leader in data center colocation services (now Digital Realty Trust).
