Pacnet

HONG KONG, 20 June 2014 – Pacnet, a leading provider of integrated technology solutions in the Asia-Pacific region, today announced it has received the Innovation Award at the Asia Communication Awards (ACA) presented by Total Telecom, a leading telecom information portal with a global readership base.  Pacnet was recognized for its dedication to service innovation and facilitating Software-defined Networking (SDN) development through its industry-first Pacnet Enabled Network (PEN)

This Innovation Award recognizes the individual or organization that has shown the greatest innovation in developing or fostering the development of a technology, used or with usability, which delivers or receives communications services via carrier networks.  Pacnet was selected winner of the ACA Innovation Award for its success in developing Pacnet Enabled Network, an SDN platform designed to allow customers to order and provision network resources on demand and in minutes via Graphical User Interface (GUI).  Pacnet’s speedy and flawless execution of its groundbreaking SDN platform stood out amongst contenders, delivering the most compelling and game-changing innovation in network virtualization that has a positive impact on the global telecommunications industry.

“Pacnet is honored to receive the ACA Innovation Award, which reaffirms our positioning as a company dedicated to delivering services innovation to our customers,” said Jim Fagan, President of Managed Services, Pacnet. “This highly coveted recognition puts the Pacnet Enabled Network in a global spotlight, distinguishing the groundbreaking usage of a SDN platform to deliver network-as-a-service capability to our customers and propelling Pacnet to the forefront of the SDN and NFV industry.”

Launched in 2011, the Asia Communication Awards recognize the accomplishments of Asian telecoms companies and the individuals responsible for the innovations, achievements and new services that are helping shape the future of Asian telecommunications.  Comprising 15 difference categories, the awards are the Asian version of the World Communications Award, a prestigious award attended by the ‘who’s who’ of global telecommunications.  In addition to receiving the ACA Award for Innovation, Pacnet was also a finalist in three additional award categories, namely ‘Best Enterprise Service’, ‘Operator of the Year’ and ‘Wholesale Operator of the Year’.

Over 200 IT and telecom leaders across Asia gathered at the ACA awards presentation ceremony, held June 19 at the Conrad Centennial in Singapore.  Pacnet’s Asia Communication Award comes on the heels of its recent CeBit Australia Business Award for Innovation, selecting PEN as an outstanding achievement in the information and communications technology industry.
