Open-IX LogoCAMBRIDGE, MA, USA – December 2, 2013 – The Open-IX Association (OIX), a neutral, non-profit industry association formed to promote better standards for data center Interconnection and Internet Exchanges in North America, announce the appointment of iMiller Public Relations (iMPR), a leading international marketing and public relations firm serving the telecommunications and technology industries, as its agency of record.  iMPR has been selected by OIX to develop and execute an integrated marketing communications program encompassing corporate positioning, messaging and organizational branding as well as social media, analyst relations and thought leadership outreach.   iMPR will advise OIX on its communications strategy, develop marketing collateral, evaluate current marketing processes, and prepare a framework for media outreach and response.

OIX is a non-profit and neutral community comprised of volunteers from the Internet community with the common goal of creating fair, reasonable and non-discriminatory standards for Internet connectivity, resiliency, interconnect security and cost.  These beneficial industry standards are divided into sub-committees, including IXP, Data Center, and Membership.  OIX is seeking to help unify a highly fragmented industry and change the way networks connect with one another in the North America by creating a new network of member-governed Internet exchange points (IXPs) housed in multiple neutral data center facilities that allow participants to interact and exchange content without the usual fiscal burden of commercial providers.
