Open-IX LogoCAMBRIDGE, MA, USA – March 4, 2015 – The Open-IX Association (OIX), a 501(c)(6) non-profit industry association formed to promote better standards for data center interconnection and Internet exchanges, announces that its Board Liaison and Data Center Standards Committee Chair Gabe Cole and Secretary of the Board Christian Koch will speak at DatacenterDynamics (DCD) Enterprise USA, to be held March 17-18, 2015 at the New York Marriott Marquis in Times Square.

Mr. Koch and Mr. Cole will present “Enterprise Users Have a Stake in Fixing the Network Edge Traffic Jam for CDN and Cloud Apps”, taking place at 4:20 PM on March 17, 2015. According to Cisco’s Visual Networking Index, annual global IP traffic will surpass the zettabyte threshold in 2016. The session will explore the modern enterprise’s role in the growing demand for streaming content and cloud applications, as well as its impact on efficient, economic transfer of data traffic among disparate networks. It will also compare the consistency and efficiency of both European and North American exchanges, and their role in resolving this impending traffic issue. Furthermore, Mr. Koch and Mr. Cole will discuss the growth and overall mission of OPEN-IX®, which develops and promotes open, uniform Internet Exchange Point (IXP) standards for data centers and peering points to support better, more ubiquitous Internet exchanges.
