Virtual Event Allows IT Executives, Cloud Practitioners, and More to Safely Gather and Discuss Building, Running, and Securing the Enterprise Cloud

NEW YORK, April 9, 2020 ONUG, the voice of the Global 2000, announces that it is hosting an entirely virtual ONUG Digital Live (ODL) event to foster industry discussion despite global pandemic challenges. The event, taking place on May 6-7, 2020, welcomes a community of IT executives and cloud practitioners, including network, solutions and cloud architects, security professionals, engineers, data professionals, and more.

In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, industry events and conferences have been shutting down in order to protect communities and businesses and prevent viral spread. While these precautions are necessary, their impacts on the business community have been profound. With the IT community’s ability to gather and collaborate being impacted during these times, virtual capabilities have become key to ensuring event advantages can still be found amid social distancing protocols.

ONUG is the only forum dedicated to exploring vendor-agnostic use case architectures, exciting new innovations, and solutions to challenges facing the enterprise in the cloud arena. ONUG Digital Live focuses on all aspects of building, running, and securing the enterprise cloud. Technology topics for conference sessions focus on automated cloud governance, cloud-native DevOps, cloud security and observability, and networking/SD-WAN 2.0. The agenda features 34 keynotes, panel sessions and working groups presented by a range of IT thought leaders, including James Beeson, VP, Chief Information Security Officer, Cigna; Don Duet, Senior Advisor at McKinsey & Co.; Gene Sun, Corporate Vice President, Chief Information Security Officer and Risk Management for FedEx Corporation, and many more. “We’re honored to be able to bring the community together at such an important time when dialogue and interaction are much needed,” comments Nick Lippis, Co-Founder and Co-Chair of ONUG. “We’ll discuss how and what members are doing at the start of the pandemic and, more importantly, we’ll discuss what the path forward is. IT organizations will go through the largest transformation in over 30 years as business and digital strategy are now one and the same.”

Members of ONUG leverage mutual experiences to drive innovation and facilitate success in both their personal journeys and the trajectories of their companies. This allows individuals and businesses to learn from peers, make informed infrastructure deployment decisions, and generate open discussion between the vendor and user communities. By enabling the community to continue this process of discussion, problem solving, and networking despite COVID-19’s widespread industry disruption, this virtual event delivers a source of important value for those in attendance and for the wider IT community.

ODL is sponsored by FedEx, United Technologies, and Cigna. Other sponsors include AppNeta, Gluware, Illumio, Itential, NetBrain, Riverbed, Aviatrix, Anuta Networks, and NetOne. Media partners include TechTarget, Work-Bench, DevOps.com, and VMBlog.com.
