Host in Ireland Welcomes Greg Hayden, Managing Director of Ethos Engineering, to Its Executive Committee

DUBLIN – 15 February, 2018 Host in Ireland, a strategic global initiative created to increase awareness of the benefits of hosting digital assets in Ireland, and winner of the Datacloud Europe 2016 award for Innovative Data Center Location, today announces that Ethos Engineering, an international company offering engineering solutions, will be a strategic partner in 2018. In addition, Greg Hayden, Managing Director of Ethos, will join the Host in Ireland Executive Committee.

“We are honored to welcome Ethos Engineering to our exceptional team of Host in Ireland partners,” says Garry Connolly, Founder and President of Host in Ireland.  “Additionally, we extend a warm welcome to Greg Hayden who joins our Executive Committee. Given his organisation’s experience with First Q Network, the European mechanical and electrical consultancy services association with more than 2,500 engineers in 12 countries, and his active membership in many other organizations in the construction industry, including honorary treasurer of the Association of Consulting Engineers of Ireland, Mr. Hayden is an ideal representative to join the initiative’s mission in expanding global awareness of the advantages of hosting digital assets in Ireland.”

The Host in Ireland Executive Committee plays an essential role in supporting all aspects of the initiative through collaboration, business advocacy efforts and strategic guidance.  Host in Ireland is sustained by the “5 Ps” – Policy, People, Pedigree, Pipes and Power – representing the most important aspects of digital asset hosting. Ireland’s integration of these five key elements provides a structured foundation for companies of all sizes and markets on a global scale.  With the support of a growing team of partners, Host in Ireland has harnessed the “power of the collective,” fostering an environment of co-opetition where competing companies and organizations come together to achieve common goals through cooperation and collaboration.

“Ethos Engineering is delighted to become a partner of Host in Ireland for 2018,” states Greg Hayden, Managing Director of Ethos Engineering.  “We have been impressed with the work they have done over the past number of years and the strength of their collaboration partners. They have really helped put Ireland on the map for the hosting industry for all the right reasons.”

A three-time recipient of the Irish Construction Industry Awards’ ‘Consultancy of the Year’ honor, Ethos Engineering is one of the most innovative and recognized firms in the sector.  With more than 75 professionals currently employed across its offices in Dublin, Cork, and London, the company is among the largest mechanical and electrical consultancy practices and has been active in the data centre industry for 10-plus years. During that time, Ethos has designed more than 550MW of technical space for numerous industry-leading clients throughout Ireland and mainland Europe. Mr. Hayden has received the ‘European CEO Award’ recognising exceptional leadership and business best-practices within Pan-European engineering and consultancy firms from the Association for Consultancy and Engineering (ACE).

About Host in Ireland

Host in Ireland, winner of the Datacloud Europe 2016 award for Innovative Data Center Location, is an industry-led marketing initiative that provides timely and accurate information about Ireland’s digital asset hosting ecosystem at all times including demonstrating why Ireland is more cost-effective, efficient, reliable, secure and accessible than most other regions across the EU.  There’s a reason companies like Microsoft, Zendesk, Facebook, Twitter, Amazon, Adobe and beyond have sought to host their solutions in as well as to/from Ireland.  Many of these reasons are immediately realized due to access to affordable power, redundant network and bandwidth capacity along with a variety of data center providers that offer an array of services sustained by the “5 Ps”: Policy, People, Pedigree, Pipes, and Power.  On top of that is a very attractive business management structure, implemented by Ireland, which is keenly interested to bring new businesses into the market.  Ireland supports this initiative through its pro-business approach, attractive corporate tax and fiscal structures, common law based legal system, continued investment in off-Island fiber cables to the U.S. and Europe, financial support for data centre energy efficiency, and access to a skilled native English-speaking workforce – ensuring data asset compliance for companies large and small.  For more information about Host in Ireland, visit www.hostinireland.com.
