Clint Heiden to Discuss the Past, Present and Future of the Open Internet Exchange Movement

The inaugural event is taking place August 4-5 in the theatre of the Oshman Family JCC in Palo Alto, CA.  Peer 2.0 converges many of the Internet’s largest users and enablers to provide an inside view into what makes the Internet work, including: transit, peering, connectivity, route servers, evolution of the interconnection landscape, and more. 

Mr. Heiden, alongside fellow panelists Vinay Nagpal, Director of Carrier Relations at DuPont Fabros Technologies, and Derek Garnier, CEO of Layer42 Networks,will discuss the “Open-IX Initiative: Past, Present, Future”. The session takes place Tuesday, August 5 from 2:00 PM – 2:30 PM and will explore the watershed event that is Open-IX (OIX), and its impact on the US Internet peering ecosystem.

During the panel, Mr. Heiden will share his insights on the disruptive initiative aimed at opening up the Internet Exchange Point (IXP) architecture in the US, highlighting key association milestones, community and market response, and future predictions. He will also discuss benefits of the recent OIX-2 certification granted to the EdgeConneX Edge Data Center® in Houston, TX.
