Bulletin, a leading provider of cloud-based mobile messaging Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), today announced the expansion of its enterprise messaging suite to include the latest OTT (instant messaging over TCP)-to-SMS technology, Messenger Chat. The platform’s Messenger Chat feature enables customers across a wide range of industries to enhance internal, cross-functional communications within their organization for more timely and efficient correspondence.

Messenger Chat can be used via the website, Android and iOS smartphone apps, and feature phones using simple SMS. This enables employees and / or customers to receive critical communications and messages via text message, even if they are not online. Messenger Chat also provides status tracking information and links individual reply messages using Bulletin’s patented technology.

“Immediate contact is crucial in today’s fast-moving environment, and it is driving businesses to begin searching for innovative, streamlined, and reliable ways to communicate internally and ensure rapid delivery of important information,” says Michael Messner, Vice President of Business Development atBulletin. “Bulletin’s fully integrated, turnkey Messenger Chat feature empowers businesses to communicate more effectively; employees can now respond faster than ever to any and all situations, leading to increased communication and business productivity.”

Driven by the proliferation of smart phones, penetration of 4G services and low cost to companies, chat messaging apps have become a necessary and effective form of communication amongst organizations, replacing traditional e-mail in most major markets.

“Chat messaging apps are evolving, enabling seamless and virtually instant contact regardless of location or mobile device,” explains Karl Whitfield, Commercial Director for Portio Research, Ltd. “Mobile messaging players have grown to become an integral aspect of the future of internal communication for various organizations, providing an innovative and reliable way to stay connected and receive mission-critical messages.”

In addition to the features of the Bulletin Messenger Chat app, Bulletin customers will continue to benefit from features such as a REST API, email-to-text from any email client, address book synchronization, company-wide address books, grouping and sharing, company-level access controls and block lists, message filtering and reporting, support for bulk message send/receive, and message delivery status.
