Missouri Network Expansion Meets Customer Demand for Reliable High-Capacity Broadband

COLUMBIA, MISSOURI — May 23, 2019 — Bluebird Network, a Midwest telecommunications company, today announces the completion of a new fiber build in Weldon Spring, MO, a St. Louis area expansion project that was originally announced in May 2018. This newly installed fiber-optic network connects to major commercial areas and brings highly reliable broadband services to the Missouri communities of Weldon Spring, Dardenne Prairie and Cottleville.

Bluebird is dedicated to densifying current fiber routes and expanding its fiber reach into new and underserved areas. Additional upcoming densification projects are planned throughout the Midwest over the next few years. The Weldon Spring expansion supports Bluebird’s commitment to providing a robust fiber footprint to communities in St. Charles and St. Louis counties. Businesses within these counties can now enjoy easy access to carrier-class network speeds and bandwidth.

“Weldon Spring is a vibrant and expanding center for business development in the outer core of St. Louis,” states Michael Morey, President and CEO of Bluebird Network. “Bluebird is excited to bring our fiber even closer to this expanding business center to support growth and economic opportunity for area businesses.”

Bluebird services carriers and enterprises over its 6,500 fiber route miles of high-speed broadband, connecting customer locations to each other, to the internet or to its underground data center. The company has over 135 Point of Presence (PoP) sites in major cities across the Midwest, including five locations in St. Louis. Bluebird Network offers a superior product suite, utilizing key enhancements to provide premium levels of service.

“The Bluebird Network team takes pride in providing cutting-edge services to many different businesses, including hospitals, government agencies, banks and other industries,” adds Mr. Morey. “Our agility and reach have enabled us to rapidly deploy new fiber network services and products as we continue to expand our service in Missouri, Illinois and the surrounding states.”
