EdgeConneX Scores a Hole-in-One
for U.S. Veterans

This past April, EdgeConneX supported the 25th-Annual ‘Swing for Freedom’ invitational golf outing sponsored by the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA) benefitting the United Service Organization (USO).  Total contributions to the USO topped $40,000 – the organization’s largest donation in the last five years.  During this fun-filled afternoon, participants gained the opportunity meet Wounded Warriors while raising money to help ease the financial burdens on  veterans resulting from services not covered by the VA.

As a Patriot sponsor of this event, EdgeConneX invited other organizations and professionals from throughout the tech community to follow suit.  As a result, some of the largest tech companies in the world joined us on the green, making this the first time non-defense market participants came out to support the cause.

Joe Lissenden, VP of Client Services at EdgeConneX, currently serves as the 2017 NDIA D.C. Chapter President.  The NDIA D.C. Chapter serves more than 16,000 individual and corporate memberships throughout the D.C. metro area, facilitating dialogue between industry and government.   They sponsor two fundraising events each year, including the ‘Swing for Freedom’ invitational golf outing benefitting the USO-METRO, and the ROTC Scholarship fundraising campaign.
