Pacnet CEO Discusses Big Data in Chongqing

Pacnet CEO, Carl Grivner was a guest speaker at the 6th International Trade in Services (Chongqing) Summit, where he discussed the importance of Big Data and its role as a catalyst for growth in Chongqing, China. According to Forrester Research, Big Data business in China could reach $806 million by 2016. Nowhere in China is the promise of Big Data more evident than in the city of Chongqing. The city’s double-digit annual growth has prompted the Chongqing Mayor’s International Economic Advisory Council to exploit the value of Big Data and cloud computing by forming an agglomeration of new service offerings in e-commerce, Internet services and mobile applications. Clustered services reduce the costs of production, while attracting more suppliers and customers into the marketplace.
