New Point of Presence at the Westin Building Exchange
Hawaiki delivers seamless connectivity between Sydney, Auckland and Seattle
AUCKLAND, New Zealand, SEATTLE, WA, USA – April 9, 2019 – Hawaiki Submarine Cable LP has extended its US presence from Hillsboro, OR to the Westin Building Exchange (WBX) carrier hotel and data center in Seattle, WA to support its clients’ capacity requirements between New Zealand, Australia, and the United States.
Launched in July 2018, the Hawaiki transpacific cable is a 15,000 km fibre optic deep-sea, carrier-neutral cable with a design capacity of 67 Tbps. Hawaiki is the fastest and largest capacity link connecting Australia and New Zealand to Hawaii and mainland United States.
Hawaiki selected the Westin Building Exchange based upon the large number of global carriers, simplified connectivity options and available cloud services that has been the hallmark of the original transpacific, terabit fiber hub on the U.S. West coast.
“Choosing the WBX in Seattle was a natural but strategic decision for us,” said Remi Galasso, Chief Executive Officer, Hawaiki. “With over 250 carriers, cloud and content providers within their ecosystem we could not have found a more ideal location.”
Through this partnership, Hawaiki expands its reach in the US and provides PoP to PoP capacity between Sydney, Auckland and Seattle to its customers.
