Strategic Account Manager

Position Summary:

The Strategic Account Manager focuses on the management of key accounts within the organization and builds strong partnerships with iMPR clients throughout the tenure of the engagement. This individual manages, executes and delegates all aspects of assigned accounts as necessary, including the development and execution of marketing campaigns, research functions, reporting, status report dissemination and leading weekly or bi-weekly status calls, customer and industry events, and all other day-to-day account management functions related to the account. The Strategic Account Manager works closely with the Vice President of Strategic Development to research, recommend and communicate various strategic account management initiatives for the client. The Strategic Account Manager also delegates specific account tasks to the Marketing Assistant who serves as a supporter on their accounts.



Essential Duties & Job Functions:



  • Serve as the central Point of contact (POC) for all client inquiries and demands; respond to client inquiries quickly (all client emails must be responded to / acknowledged within 24 hours)
  • Execute upon various client projects, focusing on client deliverables and maintaining / adhering to strict timelines and due dates on all requests and deliverables
  • Focus on strategic oversight of account, working closely with the Vice President of Strategic Development to recommend strategic marketing / PR initiatives
  • Delegate projects and requests to Marketing Assistant(s) or appropriate iMPR teams as they are received
  • Ensure critical messaging has been included in all communication and expectations have been met on all writing requests
  • Edit / fact-check final status report before sending to client at least 12 hours before weekly / bi-weekly status calls
  • Schedule, reschedule (as needed) and lead weekly / bi-weekly status calls
  • Develop strong working relationships with other iMPR teams
  • Communicate tasks and their status to the iMPR team as needed
  • Review, evaluate and recommend new tools, procedures or process as available
  • Suggest change initiatives which will produce significant improvement in team deliverables and processes
  • Fact-check and validate statements / sources
  • Complete / delegate quarterly or annual marketing reports (as needed)
  • Edit / fact-check documents prior to sending to client for review (even if they were edited and approved by the Content team)
  • Maintain friendly, cordial relations with all clients and employees
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner that results in a positive work relationship with customers, co-workers and manager
  • Build and maintain confidence, credibility and sense of PR and marketing expertise with all clients and employees
  • Ability to adhere to the Core Values and Mission Statement of the Company



Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:



  • Excellent communication skills, including reading and writing
  • Meticulous approach to work with an eye for detail
  • Ability to maintain high-quality work and meet strict deadlines
  • Strong technical skills; proficiency in Microsoft® Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong ability to build rapport and confidence within clients, the iMPR leadership team and subordinates
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to problem-solve quickly and effectively



Education and Experience:



  • Five (5) to seven (7) years of related experience required
  • Degree or diploma from a four-year university or college required
  • Public Relations or Marketing experience required
  • Previous experience in a customer relations or account management role required
